This guide gives you an overview of Microsoft 365. It shows which applications are available in your account, what you use them for and how individual topics can be covered with the solutions available.

Microsoft has renamed quite a few things since the first version in 2024. The former Microsoft 365 app is now called the Microsoft Copilot app. Project for the web was retired on 1 August 2025 and most of its features now live in Planner. I have updated the lists and steps.

How to get to your Microsoft 365 apps
The labels come from Microsoft’s guide.
Step 1: Sign in and set your start page
Sign in at microsoft365.com. Since 15 January 2025 the address has redirected to m365.cloud.microsoft, the home page of the Microsoft Copilot app (Microsoft Support). Microsoft has announced that it will bring the web addresses together under copilot.cloud.microsoft. Set the page as your browser start page. It gives you an overview of your recently used content.
Step 2: Open the app overview
Select the «Apps» icon at the bottom left or go straight to m365.cloud.microsoft/apps. If an app is missing from the selection, select «All apps». That lists every application your subscription includes.
Step 3: Pin important apps
Right-click an app or select «...» on its card and then «Pin». The app then appears on the left in the navigation pane.
Step 4: Install the desktop apps
Via «Install apps» at the top right and «Microsoft 365 apps» you install Word, PowerPoint and the rest on your device, if your subscription allows it.
Step 5: Explore
Go through the list calmly and pay particular attention to tools you have not used so far, for example Loop for projects.
